Holland Festival and INSTED invite Young Dutch directors to:

See and work with Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes from Mexico

During Holland Festival 2008 Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes will present De Monstruos y Prodigios. Holland Festival and INSTED invite young Dutch directors to see their performance on the 11th of June and to take part in a workshop with the group on the 12th of June.

The workshop will take place on the Westergasterrein and starts at 14:00. The workshop finishes around 17:00, and after that the group and all participants will have dinner together. The programme ends at approximately 20:00.

Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes (Certain Inhabitants' Theatre) and De Monstruos y Prodigios

The Mexican group Teatro de Ciertos Habitantes is led by Claudio Valdés Kuri, one of the most important directors in Latin America, and visits The Netherlands for the first time. Their grotesque and mildly anarchistic production of De Monstruos y Prodigios (Monsters and Prodigies) relates the 250 year-old history of the castrati, those divinely beautiful voices that were once so loved and that belonged to young men who had been castrated before puberty.
