Music theatre workshop

The focus of the workshop is the combination of music and text based theatre. We will be working together with different musicians from the conservatory of Amsterdam and actors from the theatre school of Amsterdam. In this workshop we will be trying out several things. Can you treat a musician like an actor? How can musicians improvise on a set scene? How can actors improvise on a set song? How do we work out a right communication with music and actors? The participants will direct themselves or watch others direct.

 

Mask Workshop

In this workshop the participants will learn what it means to work with a mask. Together we will explore how the body can express a scene with a fixed facial expression. Joke Duif has given mask workshops for many years. She uses different masks for different characters. Participants will try out several of them, see which one suits them best, combine them with costumes and eventually work on scenes together. The workshop consists of many different methods of mask acting.
