Welcome to the INSTED website!

Because there are huge measures of economy in Dutch arts, there will be demonstrations in Den Haag on Monday the 27th of June. Off Course we will collaborate in this! We hope you can be there as well!

There will be a march from Rotterdam to The Hague called Mars der Beschaving. We hope as many people as possible will join the march at night and the next day. Texts on the website are in Dutch, but if you want more information about it feel free to e-mail us or aanmeldenmars@gmail.com.

INSTED, founded in 2006, is an organisation that is dedicated to improve the international position of young theatre directors. Together with these young theatre makers INSTED wants to initiate a European-wide dialogue about theatre today and in the future. INSTED believes that in this "small world" it is very important that young theatre directors reflect on what is happening in theatre across the border, but also have opportunities to present themselves to others on an international level. It is important for young theatre makers to encounter other ideas and visions on theatre and theatre systems and, above all, exchange experiences and searches with colleagues that find themselves in a similar phase in their carreers. Exchange broadens the views and ways of thinking of these makers, which can inspire and stimulate the artistic process.

INSTED has two objectives: it is a network that connects young directors from different countries and it is a platform that strives to offer (new) international co-operative ventures and opportunities for young directors to flow into the professional work field. This way INSTED wants to contribute to the position, both artistic and political, of young theatre directors in Europe.

INSTED wants to achieve these objectives by taking action in several ways. We organise a yearly conference for our members with workshops, discussions, meetings and presentations. Once the young directors have met personally, they can stay in contact with each other and INSTED through our website. We also encourage our members to host their own INSTED events. Besides organising activities for young directors across Europe all year round, INSTED is invited to several international festivals and also travels to different foreign directing schools, thereby broadening the network and laying the foundations for international co-operative ventures. Our newsletter informs members and partners of their and our activities.

On this website you will find information on our activities. If there are any questions left unanswered or you would like to sign up to our newsletter, please contact us at info@insted.eu.
